You’ve probably just read Part 1: “Getting To Know Our Team!” and learned some interesting facts about our cool employees! In this blog, you’ll get to know a little about the Lovetere family members and their carpet family business!
Read below to learn what some of their favorite interests and hobbies are outside of work!
Pete:
Pete grew up in Dedham, MA…one of five siblings, where he shared being a middle child with his twin sister Paula! He met his wife Kathy on a blind date and there was an instant connection! Six months after meeting, they spent three months traveling cross country to California. They married in ’83, which was the beginning of their growing family. There’s always been an element of fun and traveling, which made family life an adventure!
His favorite hobbies outside of work include nature, photography, hiking, and being with his family! Peter’s favorite quote is “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”. A true visionary, his role at TCW is to inspire and motivate! We can’t get him to slow down!
Kathy:
Kathy grew up in Roslindale, MA. She is the only girl of three brothers! She will be married to her best friend Pete for 37 years this September! Kathy loves children and that would explain why before coming on board at TCW as the bookkeeper & customer service rep., she worked 18 years as an Educational Assistant for Canton Public Schools. She also loves animals so of course is the #1 grand-dog sitter for the family! Her favorite things to do outside of work include going to the movie theatre and reading! She loves relaxing at the ocean, traveling, and discovering new places with Pete and Breezy, their 3 yr old rescue pup. But her most favorite though is Sunday dinners when she cooks and has time together at her home with family.
Matt:
Matt is the oldest of the three Lovetere children. He co-founded The Carpet Workroom with his dad in 2010 after graduating from Fordham University. Over the past ten years, he’s recruited family and friends to help fill out the company roster. Because of his background playing competitive sports like baseball, football and basketball, he creates a team mentality in his role as CEO.
In his free time, Matt loves to travel abroad and stay active with running, climbing, and yoga. One little known fact is that Matt was once a middle school English teacher and basketball coach. He even spent several months teaching English in Costa Rica. He’s recently married and is looking forward to starting a family of his own!
Billy:
Billy is the 2nd oldest Lovetere sibling. He attended Xaverian Brothers High School, and went on to study health science at Quinnipiac University. After college, he spent some time teaching special education and going through paramedic school. He had always lent his dad Pete a hand with work growing up. When the opportunity arose in May 2014, he made the decision to join his dad and brother to make TCW his full time career.
He met his wife Katie while working at Nobles Day Camp in the summer of 2010 and they married in 2017– together they have a Shiba Inu named Kenzo. Billy’s role at TCW is COO, managing day to day operations. He spends most of his time behind the scenes, but also is on the road meeting with clients. His favorite activity is golf, but enjoys spending time hiking and at the beach as well. He also loves to travel and explore new places with Katie – she even agreed to a PNW road trip for their honeymoon!
Maggie:
Maggie grew up in Canton, MA but is now living in East Boston, just a couple blocks away from Matt. She is the youngest in the family and also the only girl! Maggie studied English at UMass Boston and spent her summers nannying and scooping ice cream on Martha’s Vineyard! She was teaching Barre, Buti Yoga, and Pound Fitness when she began working at TCW but is now here full time!
Her roles include Needham showroom manager, but also handles payroll, sales and along with her mom, does HR and accounts receivable/payable. She likes to refer to herself as the SHE-eo 🙂 She enjoys adventuring and exploring new places with her boyfriend Josh. They recently rescued their new pup Juno! On the weekend you will find her hiking/being outdoors, traveling, yoga, reading, and spending time with her friends and family! During quarantine, she did learn how to cross stitch…must be the weaver in her!
And there you have it. This is how the carpet family business came to be! You now have a little background about the people you may have worked with or will be working with hopefully soon.
