Last month we announced our collaboration with Beasley Media and discussed the reasons they chose us to give their Dorchester studio a flooring makeover. Not only did our installation team upgrade the carpeting, but we installed luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) to their main space (see photos below) to add an aesthetic detail that really made the place pop. The entire installation took about 2 weeks from start to finish. We did not do the whole building, just the common areas that are seen daily by guests and essential employees. Our areas of focus were common hallways, main staircase, break room, prep room, and the lounge outside the studios.
The photos below are ‘before photos’ of some of your favorite Boston radio stations. Notice how dark the wall to wall carpeting in the main space makes it feel versus the after photos.
As soon as you enter the building you get a first look at the work we had done for the Beasley Media Group. The entrance way, which is where everyone enters the building had to be replaced with a product that worked with the existing colors in the space and had to be durable. If you look closely, the carpet is actually carpet tiles! These 2′ x 2′ squares are trending right now because of the flexibility you have if an area is damaged or dirty. It’s so easy to remove the old and swap it out for a new one.
In the photos below, check out the the hallway that goes in both right and left directions leading to various office spaces. Also below is the staircase leading up to the second floor. We had replaced the carpeting on the stairs with something similar to the carpet tiles so it all flowed throughout the building.
In the last minute of the planning phase, we decided to do an LVT product that matched some existing planks instead of the same carpet tiles in the main lobby of 98.5 The Sports Hub. We were able to match it perfectly – you can’t even tell the difference. This space is used and seen everyday, so it was important to us and for them to install materials that were durable without sacrificing style.
For this particular area, it made sense to rip up the old wall to wall carpeting and add something that would make this space look newer.
As a finishing touch, we fabricated a custom area rug for their common space outside of the studio. It looked like their old area rug was ready to be retired and replaced by a new one. This new area rug ties everything together and compliments the new LVT flooring we had recently installed. Check out the photos below of the new area rug in its’ new space.
=We went into the Beasley Media Offices after the installation was complete to capture the final looks. The entire space feels new, modern, and comfortable. And that’s just from replacing old carpet tiles!
