Frequently, we come across customers who are looking for organic carpets for their homes. The Carpet Workroom carries organic carpet from two mills – Earthweave and the Couristan, Purity line.
Earthweave offers all-organic carpet, down to the backing, in several different styles. Their products incorporate pure wool with no stain protectors and no pesticides, a biodegradable primary backing made of hemp and cotton and a natural adhesive from the rubber tree. The secondary backing is made of jute, another organic material that is natural and non toxic and any dyes used are organic. They even have a 100% organic rubber pad (non-skid) as well as a 100% wool pad (cushion), depending on your needs. Earthweave is ideal for those who may be sensitive to chemicals or those who simply want to be eco-conscious, while still providing the benefit of comfort, style and quality. Couristan offers three-tiers of natural carpet, depending on your preference – Purity Plus, Purity Select and Purity Basic. The Purity Plus is organic fully through, including the wool as well as the backing. The Purity Select is organic in the surface materials, but the backing consists of a synthetic latex material. The Purity Basics has natural materials, but may incorporate dyed accent fibers or a synthetic backing. The Couristan Purity line allows customers to choose their level of green while giving them top quality products for their home, with the included styles showcasing beautiful patterns and textures for all to enjoy.
