My name is Matt Lovetere and I will be guiding you through the outline of our process. I also happen to be one of the founders and the CEO of The Carpet Workroom. If you’ve ever worked with us in the past, I was most likely lending a hand on the project. I opened our first official showroom in 2010 and continue to build and oversee the sales side of the operation. I will be tasking each of my parents, siblings, and staff members with other Blog posts but I thought it would be most appropriate for me to begin. Similar to how your journey will begin in our showroom, I will give you a sense of our process.
Step 1: Identify Your Need(s)
There are a few distinctly different products and services that we sell. According to Wikipedia, carpet is a textile floor covering typically consisting of an upper layer of pile attached to a backing. The pile was traditionally made from wool, but since the 20th century, synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon or polyester are often used, as these fibers are less expensive than wool. The pile usually consists of twisted tufts which are typically heat-treated to maintain their structure. The term carpet is often used interchangeably with the term rug, although rugs are typically considered to be smaller than a room and not attached to the floor.
To simplify, carpet is the primary ingredient used for the project. With it, a few products can be made or installed. The 3 most common are area rugs, stair runners, and wall to wall carpet. You may need one or all three but the process is the same. Start by emailing some photos of the space along with your contact information, target budget, and timeline. Once your initial inquiry is received, a project manager will follow up with the next step(s) of the process. To expedite this process, you’re welcome to visit one of our showroom locations with some photos of the space and one of our project managers will work with you immediately without an appointment.
Step 2: Define Your Vision
Some of you may have a harder time with this than others. Simply close your eyes and imagine what you want in your home. Is it warm and fuzzy or is it stylish and tailored? You’d be surprised just how good your imagination is when you take a breath and relax a moment. To help aid this visualization process, we have thousands of photos organized by gallery to help you imagine what a pattern or style will look like in your home. Once you have a sense of what you’re looking for, we’ll provide a tour of the showroom to highlight some recommended projects based on your project needs and sense of style. Sometimes it’s easier to determine what you don’t want so this sometimes takes a few tries. You’re welcome to bring home samples or have them mailed directly to your home. We even offer on site design consultation to help make the decision making process even easier.
Once material is selected we will meet with you on site with one of our fabrication specialists. Here we will talk over the finer points of the process and take our final measurements. You will have time to review questions and make decisions ahead of the installation date. At this point, the raw materials are already on their way or in production. You are only one step away from enjoying your new carpet, rug, or runner!
Step 4: Delivery
All the details have been set and your delivery or installation is scheduled. We will send out confirmation and instructions as we get close to the date. Most projects take only1 day and you don’t even need to be home to greet us. Everything will have been planned and coordinated, and all of our mechanics are certified experts in their craft.
Before you work with us you may say to yourself, “this doesn’t seem new or innovative”, and you may be right. However, the way we utilize technology, and the efficiency with which we operate, we guarantee an experience you’ll want to share with your friends and family.
