One Love Run Club Returns Stronger Than Ever for 2025 Falmouth Road Race

Each August, the Falmouth Road Race brings together thousands of runners, cheering squads, and charitable causes—but for the One Love Run Club, this race means something deeper. It’s about unity, remembrance, and the ongoing fight against cancer.

This year, the One Love Run Club hit the ground running with a goal of raising $9,000 for We Beat Cancer. Thanks to overwhelming support and the dedication of the team, they surpassed that goal with a final total of $11,085 (and counting!) , beating not only expectation, but also last year’s numbers.

Running With Purpose

Every mile covered by the team represents more than just endurance—it reflects love, resilience, and commitment to a mission. The energy on the course this year was undeniable. With every step taken, every cheer shouted, and every donation made, the team brought more awareness to the needs of those battling cancer.

Even more inspiring? We Beat Cancer raised a grand total of $59,166 across all participating teams—outpacing last year’s efforts and showing just how far this movement has come.

Why It Matters

Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting individuals currently undergoing cancer treatment or living with a past diagnosis. That means access to vital services, emotional support, and the kind of practical help that makes a real difference during one of life’s hardest chapters.

The impact is local, personal, and lasting—and One Love Run Club is proud to be part of that journey.

A New Face Joins the Team: Evelyn Lovetere

This year’s race was especially meaningful with the addition of a new runner: Evelyn Lovetere, wife of Matthew Lovetere. It was her first time running the Falmouth Road Race, and she joined the team not just in support of the mission—but as part of the family honoring Peter Lovetere’s legacy.

Running the Falmouth road race for the first time with the One Love Run Club was such an invigorating and joyful experience. It was so amazing to be on the other side and have the crowd cheer you on to finish those HOT and sweaty miles! Crossing the finish line was a personal goal which was inspired by my father in law, who accomplished this in 2023. That first run was in his honor.

Evelyn’s decision to run was both personal and purposeful. As a newcomer to the race, she brought fresh energy to the team while quickly embracing the spirit and intention behind it all. Her presence on the course was a reminder that the One Love Run Club continues to grow—welcoming new faces while staying deeply rooted in the values it was founded on.

Her participation also speaks to the way this cause touches everyone connected to the Lovetere family. Running for a reason becomes even more powerful when shared with loved ones—and Evelyn’s first race was a testament to that.

A Tradition of Strength: Returning Runners Reflect

For the rest of the team, this race wasn’t just a return—it was a continuation of something bigger than themselves. Running year after year has become a ritual of strength, reflection, and service. For these runners, like Matt Lovetere, showing up means keeping his father’s memory alive while supporting others who are facing their own battles with cancer.

“I love that this day has become an unofficial yearly memorial for our father. He only ran it once but looked forward to the event yearly, cheering us on and capturing photos as we struggled through the finish line”.
– Matthew Lovetere, CEO of The Carpet Workroom

That sentiment echoed across the entire team. With each passing year, the One Love Run Club gains momentum, not just in fundraising totals—but in becoming more than just a run club.

Built on Love, Fueled by Community

The One Love Run Club was formed in honor of Peter Lovetere, a beloved father, friend, and mentor. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every runner who laces up, every supporter who donates, and every life touched by this cause.

This year’s team—Matthew Lovetere, Billy Lovetere, Josh Howe, Evelyn Lovetere, Jared Cacciapaglia, and Kaitie Lovetere—ran with Peter in their hearts and a shared goal: to give back, push forward, and make each stride count.
