The Carpet Workroom has grown its reputation not only within the Greater Boston area, but also throughout the Northeast and the nation.
We’re incredibly proud that customers all around the United States have found our small family business through different channels and want to work with us on their home improvement projects. So, how do we work with clients who are outside of the Northeast?
The process, which includes receiving carpet samples, getting a quote for your project, and finally enjoying your custom runner or area rug, starts when you determine your project type. We offer the following carpet products:
This is a very important step because it helps us get the sense of the space we’re working with. Some customers even draw out a diagram for us! We’re usually able to provide a quote or rough estimate based on these details.
For custom stair runner and wall to wall carpeting projects, please be sure to take pictures of each set of stairs, landings, hallways, and rooms you want carpeted. If you’re including a hallway in the project, please provide measurements of the total length as well as the widest widths.
For are rugs and loose runner projects, let us know the finished rug size and pattern direction (if applicable) that you have in mind. If you need a custom-shaped area rug or runner, be sure to send photos along with the measurements. Would you like our professional opinion on something? Just let us know. We’re more than happy to offer our thoughts!
Need samples? Not a problem! If you can’t make it to one of our showrooms, we’re more than happy to send small, complimentary cuttings directly to you. The cuttings come from the mills directly and can take 7-10 business days to arrive. All you need to do is provide a photo or a link to the style you’d like, along with the mailing address of where we should send the samples.
Need some inspiration? Check out our gallery! There you can browse photos of past projects to get a sense of how different materials may look in your space. Check out our blog for ideas and more information on materials, styles, and finishes. You can also scroll through our Instagram and Pinterest pages for even more inspiration. We highly recommend taking a screenshot of the post or photo you see and including it on the inquiry for you’ll submit next.
Once you’ve completed Step 1 (take measurements and photos of your space) and Step 2 (determine materials you want to use), you’re ready to fill out our inquiry form. You’ll be able to upload the photos you took and tell us all the details about your project, including the materials you plan to use. You can also let us know if you need samples in the “Tell us about your project” field.

This helps us understand the region, which will come in handy when we’re suggesting carpet products. If you’re not comfortable telling us your exact location just yet, feel free to simply let us know what city or state you’re in so we can get a sense of where you are geographically.
Currently, we are at a 4-6 week lead time, if the style you select is in stock at the mill. If you need the job completed sooner than our 4-6 week lead time, there’s a possibility we won’t be able to accommodate your timeline. The more flexibility you have, the better chance we have of working together on your project!
We understand that everyone has a budget, be it large or small. To make our job easier, we need to know how much you’re willing to spend on your project. This will help us suggest the right materials and products for you. Since we carry thousands of different styles in our showrooms, we have options for every budget! Please let us know as soon as you inquire. We’re more than happy to help you find materials that fit your style and your budget.
This question is for stair runners or wall to wall carpet customers. Since they will be the one to install the final product, things run much smoother when we can communicate with them from the start of your project. Communicating all of the accurate and important information needed to the installers enables us to get you the best product possible. This includes measurements as well as a paper template (is the project is more complex).
If you aren’t sure where to look for a local installer, we highly recommend using the International Certified Flooring Installers website to get started. Installers listed on this site are some of the best in the country! It’s definitely worth taking the time to see which installers might be available in your area.
